Sierra Sports & Tours is looking forward to showcasing 3 of the most important stages of the 2018 Giro d'Italia. Stages 14 and 15 take the peloton into the big mountains and Monte Zoncolan and Passo Tre Croci (amongst others) will be sure to upset the General Classification standings. The Stage 16 individual time trial from Trento to Rovereto is essentially flat and will also allow specialists, such as, Tom Dumoulin and Chris Froome to try and put their stamp on the race.
Yes, you read it correctly, Chris Froome has confirmed his participation in the 2018 Giro! It has been quite a hiatus for the Team Sky grand tour leader who has only ridden the Giro in 2009 and 2010. His motivation comes two-fold: first, to become only the third rider in history to hold all three Grand Tour (Giro, Tour & Vuelta) titles at the same time, and secondly, to go for the 2018 Giro-Tour double after recent unsuccessful attempts by Contador (2015) and Quintana (2017). With 3 time trial stages during the 2018 Giro perhaps Froome is in with a chance!
Welcome to the race of cycling legends! We look forward to enjoying the 2018 Giro dŽItalia race with you and providing an insight into what many consider to be the most beautiful of the three Grand Tours.
The Giro d'Italia really is a fantastic race for the cycling enthusiast as the roads remain open for extended periods allowing great cycling, the access to the pro riders is excellent and the locals celebrate their race with a passion. Plus the food and wine is another major drawcard!
